A couple of weeks ago, Comcast enabled digital simulcast in this area. That means the formerly analog channels 1-99 are now digital. On our Motorola DCT-6412, the picture quality on the upgraded digital channels is freakin' amazing, despite a bit of overzealous red push on some of the local channels. There's a big difference when comparing the quality of this to the quality of the analog tuner on the MCE. Makes me wish MCE supported QAM. :( Oh well, there's always Vista.
Speaking of MCE, a rant is forthcoming. I can only take so much. :|
Coming into this episode, I didn't really know who would win. For the first time since Season 1 with Kwame and Bill, I didn't care who won, either. Both candidates were great picks.
After Randal won, and Trump gave him the opportunity to hire Rebecca, too. But, instead he gave the whole Highlander "there can be only one" schpeil, and that was total ass. I think it would have been wholly satisfying if both were hired; both wanted different job assignments, and both would have likely been great hires. It would have been a great end to what turned out to be a great season to have both candidates getting hired. After all, it's Trump's show, and he can do whatever the hell he wants.
With Randal saying not to hire Rebecca too, that immediately dropped the respect factor down several notches. That was just selfish, and for retarded reasoning. Sure, I'm just an average TV watching plebian, and my opinion or respect doesn't mean a damn, but still. That sucked. Thanks, Randal.
Kaysar got evicted AGAIN.. and I'm a sad panda.
Martha Stewart to star in new 'Apprentice'
Let me be the first to say, "hell yes!" If I recall, the original concept of The Apprentice was to have a different boss each season, and I thought that having one with Martha Stewart would be amazing as hell. Damn, this rocks. Maybe somebody will be able to fetch her damn merlot already. Word.
Holy crap, what a good episode. Apex had the worlds shittiest commercial ever, and Elizabeth had the coolest firing ever. When she said she wanted to bring Raj and Chris in with her, Trump just said, "don't even bother, Elizabeth, you're fired." What a ridiculous amount of ownage put forth there. She may have been the by far the hottest of the female team, but man, did she suck ass as a leader. I mean, I just can't see her successfully running any division of a Fortune 500 company.
Oh, and Mosaic had the most awesome commercial ever. Made me want to sign up for the NYPD. I can't find the video though. Somebody must link me.
Big Brother 5 ended, and Michael didn't win. Hooray. I mean, he seemed like a nice guy, but if I had to hear him drawl out his acceptance speech, I would have had to drive a diamond tipped 1/4" drill bit into my frontal lobe.
Amazing Race ended, and truthfully I could have cared less who won, as long as it wasn't those goddamn bible thumpers. I was just hoping that God himself would have struck them with lightning to get them to shut the fuck up and stop asking Him to do crap for them. I was kind of hoping at the end that Colin and Christie would have won, if for no other reason than they had the awesome psycho car service driver from hell. But, I like Chip and Kim, so it's all good.
Apprentice. Tonight. I can't wait.
Holy crap. This season of The Apprentice is like the best season of the show ever. I should have known after the first episode. The Donald is more over the top than ever, the cast is more out of control than ever (between Raj and his bowties to Stacy and her mental breakdowns). I mean, last week's episode was worth it for the line of the night where when in response to Pamela slamming some kid for his bad haircut, (paraphrasing) "So? I have a bad haircut!." A pompous assholish egomaniac, yep, but at least he's self-deprecating, right? Rob got fired, and good riddence, his whole "wah wah you didn't delegate anything to me" was a bunch of crap, if you weren't getting enough to do, then step up or get stepped on, beyotch. To top it off, this week, The Donald pulls the ultimate swerve and fires Bradford (who despite being an arrogant mysoginistic prick was a better businessman in just about every way possible than anybody else on the women's team) sending shockwaves of WTFness through the entire television audience.
Just when I thought things couldn't get any better, I was watching the encore on Saturday night featuring an additional 20 minutes of boardroom banter and it was amazing. I remember reading in People (don't laugh, Leslie used to subscribe to it) how the boardroom usually goes on for about two hours and they have to edit it down to about 10 minutes. The additional 20 minutes that they broadcasted was amazing. George was laying down the serious hatred toward everyone, Donald was slamming the crap out of everybody (in his ridiculous over the top fashion), and Carolyn had major bitch mode turned on. I mean, it was so awesome I could have just skipped the first hour of the task and just watched two hours of the boardroom. It was that cool.
I can't wait for next week's episode.
Oh shit. Amazing stuff. I can't wait to see what next week's season finale brings. The season started out slow, got really good, slowed down again, but man did it pick up these past few weeks. It's just weird to think how in the timeline of things, just over half a day ago, Jack was in Mexico all undercover.
Everything was topped off as Sherry Palmer has the worst hour ever first getting emotionally bitch slapped, then physically bitchslapped only to get shot 3 times in the end.
Saunders gets majorly pwned again this week, although not two F-18s blowing up your helicopter pwned like last week.
Next week is looking like it's going to rock, and I have no clue how it's going to turn out. Makes me wish there was a few more hours in the day to get more plot resolved.
Just finished watching The Swan. Two words come to mind: the fuck?
I mean, the two girls on the show weren't like really ugly or anything. I mean nothing some exercise, dental work, and some dermatological work wouldn't have cured. Not like they needed such drastic plastic surgery. The first one was actually pretty cute, I thought.
Plus what's this whole obsession with big lips? I mean, both of these chicks got collagen injections to get freakishly huge lips.
Anyway, South Park tonight..
is..
brilliant.
IT'S ON!
No more episodes of 24 until March, 30?
What the shit is that?
