The Informational Went Well..
So, my talk with the manager of the developer division build team went well. The job qualifications seem similar to what I'm doing right now, but ostensibly with much more room to grow. Right now in my current position the only place I can go is in management. I simply have no desire to do that right now.
The manager of the group is interested in putting me into the interview loop. Now I need to approach my manager to get approval to do a real interview, and from what I understand, it's going to be really tough, in part because it's a real SDE position, not a SDE/Test position. I guess I better start brushing up on my C/C++ and Win32 sk1llz.
I'm going to continue to keep my options open, however. I'm scheduling a talk with MSN Mobile next week for a SDE/Test position.
