Hmm. Interesting. I never thought MMORPG development would be *that* hard for giants like Microsoft and Level 5. After all, there are random companies, some of them being even startups, that do an excellent job making MMORPGs... Just look at northeastern Asian countries like Korea, Taiwan and so on. (Lineage, anyone? RO? Mu?)
Maybe they aimed too high, dunno. Maybe they underestimated the involved effort making a successful online game, like `Hey, even a no-namer in Kolea makes $$$ with its game -- sounds like pretty easy!'
Just goes to show, when it comes to MMORPG, you don't fuck with Korea. I mean, South Korea has what, like the second largest PC userbase outside of the US? That's crazy for such a small country.
Besides, who ever thought a POS like Ragnarok could ever be so ridiculously popular?
